  Kai’s contract expired at the end of the season, having become Frodo, so his departure was inevitable. Once the first season came to a close, I was free to focus on other things. I decided to become more of a video gamer and became heavily involved with Dark Souls.

  It’s a challenging game, especially with all the shortcuts you can take. It also really test your strategy. The plot is really just a mechanism to achieve your goal. I was trying to get as far as I could and just focus on the game itself. I stopped trying to make this “meaningful” and just kept venturing forth for the challenge.

  Various other things have happened while I was working on Rise. I’ve gotten married, started three jobs, seen countless friends move away and have pretty much entered into a new phase of my life.
